Sunday Brunch

This new year my husband and I have started going out for brunch every second weekend. It’s a small thing that we both look forward to on the weekends, especially when we have had a crazy week. Going out on a brunch date means we have time to talk about our weeks, reflect and make plans for the week ahead. (Plus I don’t have to cook, so I’m extra happy about that).  We usually go to a small “mom and pop” place that has the best hot chocolates ever, since I don’t drink coffee good hot chocolate is a must. It’s a small place nestled into a strip mall, if you drove by too quickly you might miss it completely. But it has the best food…I’m hungry again thinking about it.

This weekend we did something a bit different and met another couple for brunch. We had an awesome meal and an even better visit. Layton and I followed our double date up with a quick Starbucks run on the way home (another new tradition of ours).

My casual brunch outfit this weekend consisted of a cozy sweater from the Ardene Basics line, a pair of simple dark jeans and a warm blanket scarf. I rounded out the look by adding my Maui Jim sunglasses.  The weather here in Alberta has been sitting around -25 degrees Celsius (-13 Fahrenheit) for the last week. At the moment wearing cute skirts and dresses to brunch is not an option.

In the flat lay I included a few of my everyday makeup products that I cannot live without:

  • NARS Audacious Lipstick in Anita (Fun fact: I wore this on my wedding day)
  • Makeup Forever Excessive Lash Mascara
  • Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl

I hope that you have had a wonderful weekend and the coming week brings you all the happiness possible! Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the internet.

Until next time,
