Small Drugstore Haul and First Impressions

Today my husband headed into the field for a few days. So naturally on my way home from work I stopped by the drugstore to wander the makeup aisles (Sorry hunny!). A few new (and just new to me) things definitely caught my eye and somehow found their way into my basket. As soon as I got home I took off my makeup and completely redid it with all my new finds. Does anyone else do this or is it just me?

Obviously I don’t have a load of experience with these products yet (wear time and so on). I’m super impressed with everything I got and couldn’t wait to tell you all! To see how they all look on check out the last picture on this post!

Rosé All Day – Physicians Formula

This is an oil free antioxidant rich serum. It’s enriched with Rose water to help sooth, calm and hydrate the skin. It claims to brighten and tighten you skin and prep it before applying makeup. It is also hypoallergenic, paraben-free, oil free, cruelty free and gluten free (I have a bad gluten allergy so this is awesome).

As someone who has oily skin I was a bit apprehensive about how it would sit on my skin, but it look beautiful! As you can see in the picture is it a very creamy white serum. The part that is hard to photograph is the pink duo shift this serum has. It looks stunning on the skin and my foundation applied beautifully on top of it. So far I have zero complaints about this serum.

The Healthy Lip – Physicians Formula

Velvet lip
Physicians Formula Healthy Lip

This is a velvet finish liquid lipstick. I got the shade “Berry Healthy” and it is a stunning medium rose shade. I usually have a hard time wearing liquid lipsticks because they are to drying or smudge everywhere. Since this liquid lip isn’t matte it isn’t super drying, but it still dried down enough to not smudge everywhere. It has a light vanilla scent, but it’s not overpowering by any means. It’s a new favourite, I can honestly say I don’t have anything like it in my collection!

Butter Bronzer – Physicians Formula

This bronzer seems to be a new cult classic. It’s a beautiful natural looking bronzer that seems to hit the perfect point between warm and cool tones. I have quite pale skin and it made me look bronzed without appearing muddy. So in my book, it did it’s job well!  It has a very strong coconut scent, which is a bit overpowering but the scent doesn’t linger on your skin. I got the lightest shade that I could find, but I did notice they have a few darker shades of the same bronzer that would work well on medium skin tones. From what I saw at my drug store they don’t have any options for deep skin tones though.

Rose Gold Chrome Eyeshadow – Annabelle

This single eyeshadow was the most difficult to get a good picture of. It is stunning! If you see a tester of it at the drugstore make sure you check it out. No photos can properly portray how beautiful it is. The shade would be super flattering on all skin tones and was incredibly easy to apply. I used just my fingers and was able to get pigmentation that I would normally need a damp eyeshadow brush for. It blended out super easily and has a super soft texture. I can honestly say this is my favourite makeup purchase this year so far!

Overall I’m super happy with everything I got and I can’t wait to keep playing with them and do some wear tests to see if they last all day. Let me know if you have any of these products and what you think of them! Below I have inserted an unedited/unfiltered photo of my makeup (using all of these products) in natural light.
