5 Favourite Lipsticks – The Bright Pinks

It’s not much of a secret that I have a bit of a lipstick addiction. Its getting to the point where I have a large travel size makeup bag just for lip products. I have always felt that the right lipstick can pull any look together or make you feel like a complete badass (or both). Since I have such an extensive lipstick collection I’ve decided to slowly go through it with you all! Every few weeks (or once a month, I haven’t totally decided yet) I will show you 5 of my favourite lipsticks from my collection. I’m going to include arm swatches of the colours as well as show pictures of me wearing them so you can see how they look on. So without further ado lets get started!

Colour Pop – Satin Lippie Stix in Flawless ($5.50 US)

This lipstick is by far one of my favourite “bright” winter colours. It is a true raspberry colour with purple/ blue undertones. I feel like this lipstick is nice and bright without being overpowering, which is awesome because I’m slight intimidated by loud colours. Since this is a Satin formula it isn’t drying in the slightest. It also feels incredibly light on the lips, it’s almost as light as a chap stick. However since it isn’t a matte formula it doesn’t last a long time on the lips and you definitely have to reapply it after eating/drinking. Sadly, ColourPop no longer makes this shade of Lippie Stix. But after some searching it seems like the colour “Party Foul” is the new version of it. Party Foul seems like it is ever so slightly darker but not by much. The only downside is that these Lippie Stix can be a bit patchy.

NYX – Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paulo ($6.50 US)

I know this lipstick isn’t really that bright (to some people) but to me it is a perfect bright medium rose colour. These Matte Lip Creams are super easy to apply, they aren’t streaky at all and they last forever! They aren’t as transfer proof as some more high end liquid lipsticks, but considering they are drugstore they exceeded my expectations. This isn’t a colour I would normally wear, but I saw Karissa Pukas wearing it in an Instagram post, went to the store and bought it that day. It is by far my favourite spring and summer lipstick. It feels a little bit thicker on the lips, and it can be a touch drying. I suggest exfoliating your lips and applying a good lip chap before hand.

NYX – Xtreme Lip Cream in Candy Land ($6.00 US)

This is a cross between a lipstick and a lip gloss, and I love it! It’s super moisturizing on your lips and still has a good amount of pigmentation. It gives you a nice glossy look without feeling sticky like some lip glosses. Although this colour may not look it in the photo, it is a bright Barbie pink colour with blue undertones. This kind of colour is perfect for spring and summer. If you’re someone who isn’t a huge fan of lipsticks these Lip Creams are an awesome option! The only downside is they don’t last a long time on the lips and they transfer easily (just like any lip gloss will).

Quo – Lipstick in Charm

I considered not putting this lipstick on the list because I believe it was a limited edition lipstick (as I cannot find it anywhere online). However, if you like this colour Bombshell in the NYX Pin-up Pout Lipsticks is a perfect dupe ($8 US). This lipstick is a deep hot pink with blue undertones. This is a lipstick that I will wear instead of a bright red sometimes. Don’t get me wrong, red is a classic. But sometimes it’s nice to switch it up and wear a bright pink instead. This colour isn’t for everyone, but I think it’s a great thing to have in your collection.

Revlon – ColourBurst Lacquer Balm ($8.50 CND)

This lip balm has awesome pigmentation without being heavy like a lipstick. It gives your lips a flush of colour (and sparkle). Again, if you aren’t a huge fan of lipsticks or want something lighter this is a great option. This colour is similar to Candy Land, but it is a touch brighter and warmer. It is also super moisturizing, however it does transfer and smudge easily. The only downside to these is they can be a bit patchy, and will cling to any existing dryness on your lips.

I hope you guys enjoyed this first little look into my lipstick collection! Let me know what your favourite bright pink lipsticks are.

Until next time internet friends,
