February Favourites

It feels like February almost didn’t happen, wasn’t it just Christmas? (I truly believe that as you get older time goes by faster). I still have a hard time believing its March already! Spring is just around the corner, which I cannot wait for, I’m getting pretty sick of the snow and cold. Since it’s the beginning of a new month I decided it was a good time to share with you all the products that I was obsessed with last month. So lets get into the products!

Philosophy – Amazing Grace Eau de Toilette

I received this perfume as a Christmas present from my mother-in-law and I have worn it almost every day since I got it. I think it is such a perfect all year scent, it is a very classic smell with notes of musk and Lily of the Valley. Since it is a powdery floral scent it seems like a very “grown up” perfume to me, it isn’t as sugary sweet as some other scents I own. I also love the bottle, this is a limited edition bottle (I’m not to sure if it is still available).

OGX – Beeswax Texture Spray Wax

I have been looking for a good drugstore texture spray for a while. I stumbled across this one and decided to give it a try. I have fallen in love with it! I never thought a spray wax would be the solution to my flat hair. It works as a volumizer and adds texture to your hair without feeling heavy or powdery. I’m so glad I decided to give this a try! It definitely has a permanent space on my vanity.

Maybelline – Fit Me Loose Setting Powder

I absolutely love this setting powder! It’s not milled as fine as some powders you would find at Sephora, but for a drugstore powder it is pretty great. I find that it does a good job of setting my makeup without looking cakey or thick. I also love that this powder comes in different shades. I am quite fair so some “skin tone” setting powders end up looking way too dark on me.

Make Up For Ever – Excessive Lash Mascara

This is my favourite mascara ever. It gives my lashes great length while making them look full and defined. It is the best mascara, that I have tried, for the “false lash” look. It has been my go to for the last three months and I can honestly say this is one I will repurchase again and again.

Sephora Collection – Pro Brow Brush

I love this brush so much! I use a brow powder everyday (since I like a very natural/full look) and this brush is perfect. It is dense yet thin enough to make shaping your brows an easy process. The spoolie is a good size and quite dense as well.  Over all I think this brush is a must have if you like a natural brow look!

NXY – Matte Finish Setting Spray

LRM_EXPORT_20180304_114828.jpg Okay, I’ll be totally honest. This setting spray does nothing to help my makeup stay matte. So why is it in my favourites? Because even though it doesn’t keep my makeup matte, it gives my makeup the most beautiful finish! It isn’t matte, yet it isn’t dewy. It makes the skin look very natural and helps melt any powder products into the skin. I have been using this daily and my bottle is almost empty. I will be getting another one asap!

BH Cosmetics – Modern Mattes Eyeshadow Pallet

I love this eyeshadow pallet so much I wrote a whole blog post about it, which you can read here. I have used this everyday for probably three months now. It is pigmented, incredibly blendable and very inexpensive (what more could you ask for?)

Dresdner Essenz – Bath Soaks

These were not only a favourite of mine this month, but my husband loves them too! We actually find these at the grocery store (Save On Foods). These smell amazing, are coloured (but don’t stain your tub) and are so relaxing. They also have a Muscle Therapy soak that is amazing for sore muscles. We both love them for after a hard workout, or when you just want to relax after a long day.

What were some of your favourite products in February? Have you tried any of my favourites?

Until next time internet friends,

  1. I have tried the pressed fit me powder as well, it’s also a nice powder 😊 It’s not as fine as the loose powder though, so you want to use a light hand so it doesn’t look cakey 😊

    1. I used the pressed powder before the loose powder became available and it was really good! I applied the pressed powder with a damp sponge and it worked really well. I’m sure a brush works fine, but I like applying powder with a sponge, personally. The only thing is that dipping a damp sponge in the powder does cause hard pan over time, but you just have to scrape a bit off. Hope that helps!
